As the professional football season officially begins, all eyes are set on the NFL and what to expect from each team.
One of these teams, the Cincinnati Bengals grabs lots of attention with the full return of quarterback, Joe Burrow. In 2020, during his rookie season, Joe Burrow suffered a brutal knee injury and a torn ACL. After surgery and lots of rehabilitation, Burrow plans to come back better than ever this season, as discussed by the Bengals social media team. Upon his return in 2022, the Ohio based team was able to make it all the way to the Super Bowl but unfortunately lost. That fact opens conversation on whether or not the team can make it to the playoffs and the Super Bowl this season.
Football player, Brenden Rose (11) states, “They could definitely make another super bowl run, they have to team to do it and with Burrow it’s 100% possible.” This is all reliant on the quarterback’s confidence and the Bengal’s overall morale and teamwork this season.
Injury makes a big impact on confidence. As athletic trainer Mattie Tomlin states, “Injury hurts a player’s confidence and makes them hesitant to come back to playing because they are scared of getting hurt again,” and continues, “players always have a chance to come back but it’s a lot of hardwork.”
However, the quarterback recently agitated a strained calf, again affecting his style of play and rising questions on what to expect. Therefore posing the question, will Joe Burrow be able to make a full comeback and lead his team to the Super Bowl this year? Only time will tell.
