The seniors of DECA went to the state competition to dominate, and they did just that. With 11 Seniors qualifying and 10 senior groups going to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida, April 25-30, ready to dominate the competition. DECA seniors who qualified for ICDC are Matti Settle, Sergio Rodriguez Hortua, Lelia Ramey with 2nd place in PMSP, Maya Ghobrial, Pria Bobby placed top eight in IMCS, Ryan Freisleben, Jackson Frewin also placed top eight in HRO, Nathan Baxley placing first place in BFS, Henry Smith , Emery Katerba, Pria Bobby, Matti Settle having both SBE re-gold qualified, lastly Matti Settle and Holy Griffin placing for the Annual report.

These seniors have worked so hard to place as high as they did this year at SLC. Many of these seniors have been in DECA since their freshman year, and with their four years of dedication comes many great memories. Senior Maya Ghobrial says, “My favorite DECA memory was finishing our presentation and then polar plunging and playing soccer with my friends on the beach this year at SLC!” Another DECA senior, Matti Settle says, “ I’ve had a lot of great memories hanging out with all my friends on our DECA trips but I would say my favorite is when I get to see shock on my friends faces when they get called up on stage. You can feel their immense joy and relief as their smiles start to become contagious and our whole group jumps up and cheers.”
