On Friday, November 22, 2024, students at Hidden Valley High School will be participating in Club Day all throughout the school. Club Day is a day specifically meant for students to be able to participate in extracurricular activities in school for people that do not have access to after school transportation.
Many clubs such as Deca, Beta club, and FCA were already established within the school. Students in neither of these clubs had to sign up for another club to participate in. There were many options including Men’s Volleyball, Key club, Pickleball club, Minecraft club, Chess club, Drama club, etc..
Bryce Woodson(10) stated, “I’m currently in Men’s Volleyball club.” The Men’s Volleyball club is supervised by Coach Ponn and Coach Hutchins with Caleigh Ponn(12), Abby Bishop(11), Lauren Dudley(10), Kenley Brown(10), and Olivia Viar(10) help organize/ run it, all being on the Titans Volleyball team. ” I joined because my sisters and cousin play volleyball and I found it interesting for me to do it,” Bryce Woodson explains.
Bailey Hall(9) says that she is in Deca club. “I joined the club to be with friends and it helps for college. So far I’ve been to DLC and am signed up for SLC,” explains Bailey Hall. Bailey will be competing at SLC with a project that her group will be working in these following weeks.
” I think what Coach Ponn is doing is cool as she explained she has mentioned a Men’s team to the school, but has been told no because there will be no interest,” Bryce Woodson. ” As of right now there was around 63 boys on the first day,” explains Bryce Woodson.
“So far Deca has been fun for me and I plan to keep doing it throughout high school,” says Bailey Hall. Deca brings in a lot of interest and brings in a lot of students.
Club day at Hidden Valley High School is a smart decision and students seem to give positive feedback on it as well. Many are happy with the change that the school has made to help them succeed.
