As football season comes to an end, your Hidden Valley Titans football team faced the Blacksburg Bruins on Friday night. This was the last home game for the Titans and the last home game for our seniors. A very emotional but exciting game for Hidden Valley on senior night.
A lot of changes came to the team on Friday. Some players were out, which led the wide receiver position open for Japhon English (12) to return to his favorite position. “It was very comfortable to go back to wide receiver,” Japhon stated. This position switch was a great idea as Japhon would score his last touchdown at Bogle. Oliver Lichtenstein (10) would give Japhon a twenty-yard pass right to the endzone to bring the Titans back in it, 7-7. “It was nice scoring in my final game at Bogle,” Japhon said.
Other players were excited to play their last game and they wanted to put on a good performance. Chris Harless (12) said, “I wanted to play good for my last time at Bogle.” This was common among the football team and especially the seniors. This would be the last game they would play in front of their fellow students, friends, and family. After four amazing years, Chris appreciated the motivation that kept him going through the ups and downs with the Titan football team. “The brotherhood with my teammates has kept me playing throughout my high school career,” he said.
The Titans want to thank all the fans for sticking around supporting them through this ride. “Thank you for supporting our team despite the rough season, we appreciate all of our fans!” Chris finalized. The Titans will be back next year, so like always, come and show your support for your Hidden Valley football team!
