Returning to Hidden Valley High School for the 2024-2025 school year, Mrs. Coffey is taking on a new role as Dean of Students. Mrs. Coffey started off her teaching career at Hidden Valley High School as a math teacher, where she taught mainly calculus and precalculus.
Mrs. Coffey’s time at Hidden Valley was quite short, lasting only 4 years. She then took the next step in her career, moving to Salem High School as a math teacher. Mrs. Coffey elaborated that she enjoyed her time at Salem but is excited to return to Hidden Valley.
Mrs. Coffey was well liked by her peers, and they are excited she has returned. Mr. Beard, a Math teacher at Hidden Valley, says, “We enjoyed having Mrs. Coffey as a math teacher.”
Mrs. Coffey was eligible for the position of Dean after she received an administration degree from Radford University.
Moving to administration is an opportunity to advance her career. “I wanted to pursue a different role, and this opportunity came up. When I taught here, Mr. Whitlow was the assistant principal. I knew that I would like to work for him.”
Mrs. Coffey worked hard to earn her Admin Degree and earn the position of Dean of Students. She looks forward to this new role and is excited to return to Hidden Valley.
