Hidden Valley’s track team has come off one of the most exciting track seasons that we have seen in a while. Last season runners were breaking records and competed in the Adidas Nationals and as the 2024-2025 indoor and outdoor season approaches, Coach Oakes and the rest of the Hidden Valley track team are looking for new runners to join and to dominate!
After school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays you can join some of the veteran runners to some very intense and fun workouts. Coach Oakes said, “Typically, the seniors run it, I have nothing to do with it besides supervising it…” This means that you can run and learn from people that you may see at school! This creates a fun learning environment for those intimidated by running and track.
Preseason Track will help you with everything you need to become a top sprinter. Coach Oakes states, “Last year we did see a big improvement with building up their stamina and their speed. I am focusing to prepare athletes for the indoor season with workouts that stimulate seasonal practices.”
Hidden Valley feels optimistic about their chances with getting more people to Adidas Nationals this indoor season. One of the returning athletes and senior who will be leading preseason, Sergio Rodriguez (12) said, “With both new and returning athletes, I am confident that this upcoming team will be performing really well during preseason training and when meets start in the indoor season.” They are hoping for a very good season with the upcoming talent coming up. Coach Oakes encourages people to show up. Sergio is very confident and excited about this upcoming season!
