New math teacher Dr. Haupt will be joining Hidden Valley for this 2024-2025 school year. She will help the Titans teach Algebra II and AFDA.
Dr. Haupt is teaching Algebra II and AFDA, Algebraic Functions and Data Analysis. She has an important goal of helping all of her students and making sure they do the best they can in her classes.
When the old Algebra II and AFDA teacher left, Dr. Haupt filled their spot, and she appears very happy with her position here at Hidden Valley. “So far it’s very much a community, a family and everybody is very supportive,” Dr. Haupt (staff). “I feel like I have places I can go to if necessary.”
Dr. Haupt moved to Roanoke County from Tennessee because her husband is from Vinton. “It was time for us to come back home,” Dr. Haupt (staff). She chose Hidden Valley specifically because it was the school with a job open for her.
From initial impressions she seems to be passionate about teaching and her students. She loves to see kids grasping the concepts that they are learning and, as she put it, seeing the light bulbs go off.
Chase Pritchard (11) attends Dr. Haupt’s Algebra II in his B5 block. “I like how Dr. Haupt always helps us in class,” as he explains about being a student in class. Dr. Haupt encourages her students on as they learn new material from her.
Dr. Haupt has been teaching at Hidden Valley for 2 weeks now and refers to the Titans as family. Chase Pritchard states, “I like how she helps us when needed and thinks of simpler ways to teach us the material.” So far Dr Haupt has had an impact on students.
This is Dr. Haupt’s’ first year at Hidden Valley and hopefully not the last as she continues her career with the Titans.
