Justin Autrum(12) is a senior at Hidden Valley High School and will be attending Virginia Western Community College as a freshman next fall.
Virginia Western is a community college in Roanoke, Virginia, and Justin plans on spending a year at community college to figure out his future plans.
One of Justin’s fond memories at Hidden Valley is his Wo Hop talks in Journalism. Justin has an extraordinary obsession with the New York City Chinese restaurant. In fact, he has several t-shirts from the establishment.
Justin’s favorite teachers at Hidden Valley are Dr. Neale, an English and Journalism teacher, and Ms. Newburn, a Psychology and History teacher. Justin appreciated these teachers very much and gives thanks to them for the part they have played in his education.
Justin has some advice for younger students. He states, “Work hard, study, and complete work. Also don’t do drugs, they’re bad.”
Justin regrets nothing about his high school career, he liked most of his teachers and did well in his classes. He never did any sports and focused mainly on school and spending time with his friends. He continues to thank Dr. Neale as he enjoyed his combined three years of Journalism and English. A highlight this year has been trying to solve the Daily Dozen each morning with Aidan Miller, Zander Slough, and Dr. Neale.
Justin will miss his friends who are going to college and his teachers whose classrooms he will no longer visit.
One Important life lesson Justin wishes to pass down to underclassman is, “Always take your chances because you only live once, plus what’s the worst that can happen.”
Good Bye, Justin
