Today’s senior spotlight is Olivia Forth. She has been a member of the Lady Titans Varsity Basketball team as well as Prevention Club for the last 2 years and played JV Basketball as an 8th grader. As a member of both, she has been involved in many aspects at the school and enjoys collaborating with others.
She is noted as being a familiar, kind face on both the court and through the halls. Furthermore, Olivia has gotten involved in close knit relationships with teachers, such as Nurse Shores. When asked about Mrs. Shores, the senior commented, “She has been an amazing role model to me and helped me realize my passion for wanting to help people like she does. I truly do not think I would have gotten through these past 4 years without her.” As she states, Nurse Shores has helped her figure out what she wants to do in the future. She has chosen to follow in similar footsteps and pursue the nursing program through Virginia Western. She will immediately begin working after completing this program, and will do amazing things no matter where she chooses to go!
Forth’s advice to younger students, “Pick your friends wisely. Remember to keep yourself and mental health at the forefront of your mind. And never give up on your dreams.” Additionally, she mentions that she wishes she “had participated in more clubs/extracurriculars and taken some of my classes more seriously. She also comments, “I will miss the people of Hidden Valley the most. I have met some amazing people at HVHS.”
Finally, she concludes saying, “The most important life lesson I have taken away from high school is to find your people. Find the people who know you to your core, who constantly uplift you and point you towards the good in life.” Olivia has been a ray of sunshine to the people closest to her and has faced much adversity, yet come out the other side. She will do amazing things and will be missed so much!
