Hidden Valley High School’s senior class is one for the books. As the 2023-2024 school year comes to an end, it’s easy to realize just how much we are losing. The 2024 class is filled with smart, kind, and loving students. Although I could name a long list of wonderful seniors, one stands out.
Aanandi Parashar has been one of Hidden Valleys most influential students. People at Hidden Valley don’t just know Aanandi: they love her. Whether it’s clubs, sports, or academic competitions, Aanandi is there.
Aanandi is a part of Virginia DECA, Science Olympiad, BETA club, tennis, swim, key club, honors society, and so much more! Not only has she made an impact on Hidden Valley, but she has reached people from all around Virginia. Through Hidden Valley’s DECA chapter Aanandi has gotten to know people from Ashburn and Blacksburg to Fairfax and Sterling Virginia. She has proudly represented Hidden Valley as the region 5 Vice President.
While at Hidden Valley, Aanandi states that she has formed amazing connections and made some of her fondest memories. Whether it’s students, teachers, or administration, Aanandi has developed bonds that she will never forget. “One of my fondest memories is competing in science fair and building a closer relationship with Mrs. Reddy”, said Aanandi.
Throughout the years Aanandi says she has learned from experiences and grown in many ways. Highschool can be a hard time in your life, but with the right mindset it can change everything. “Some advice I have for younger student’s is don’t lose motivation. Everything will work out in the end, but you don’t want to look back and regret the effort you put in”, stated Aanandi.
One thing Aanandi has learned is that hard work is the key to success. Someone who helped her discover this perspective is a beloved teacher at Hidden Valley, Mr. Hunt. Over the past four years Mr. Hunt has stood by Aanandi and supported her in many different ways. Aanandi says that Mr. Hunt encouraged her in everything she wanted to achieve.
Starting in the fall of 2024 Aanandi will be attending the University of Virginia. Although she is very excited to start this new journey, there are a few things she will miss. Hidden Valley has provided her with a large sense of community that she has loved. “I have known some of these people since elementary school and have grown close with all of them in different ways”, declared Aanandi. Even though Aanandi is moving on in the journey of her life, these memories will stick with her.
