The 2023-2024 seniors of Hidden Valley High School are graduating this spring! One of those seniors is Paige Barbour. Paige is moving on from her life in high school and has been accepted to Virginia Tech where she will be majoring in Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
Paige Barbour attended Hidden Valley High School for all four years and has been a remarkably successful student. She participated in clubs like Spanish Club, Unified Partners, and Photography Club. She is also successful outside of Hidden Valley. She has a part time job at Honey Baked Ham, where she works regularly after school and on weekends.
When I asked her about her most memorable experience in high school, she said, “A fond memory from this year was being on Homecoming Court and being in the parade with some of my closest friends and boyfriend. It was nerve wracking but ended up being really fun. I loved dressing up and throwing candy at people.”
She also has regretted some things during her high school years. For instance, not joining DECA club sooner. “I regret not getting involved in things sooner, specifically DECA. It ended up being so much fun and I really enjoyed it even though I only got to do it for one year.” says Paige.
While being a high school student, you will go through things and learn so much through those years. The main lesson Paige learned in her years was to not stress so much. She found herself getting stressed a lot throughout high school and now with it closing, she has realized that everything will work out fine in the end. Also, in all her years here, she has gone through a fair share of teachers she has loved. She said her favorite teacher through her high school years was Mrs. Sprenger. Paige says, “I had her in eleventh grade for history and then this year for government. She is so sweet and supportive, and I just love her.”
As a community here at Hidden Valley, we are so proud of Paige and all her accomplishments as she graduates and moves on to this new chapter of her life. She will be missed as a wonderful student at HVHS. She even will miss some things about high school too. “I will miss the ability to see all of my friends every day before we all part ways and go to separate colleges. You really don’t realize how special it is until the very end.“ says Paige.
Paige’s advice to her fellow students, “Get involved because it can really help you make friends. Also, do not be scared to reach out to your teachers for help in classes if you need it. More than likely they will be very happy to help you out.”
We are all supporting Paige Barbour and her future at Virginia Tech and whatever comes next.
