This year’s homecoming dance was held on October 14, 2023, in the Hidden Valley High School gym.
Most people attended this dance, and many had a fun homecoming experience.
“I went to homecoming to go have fun with my friends,” said Brynn Raymond (9), when she was asked why she attended the dance.
The theme of the dance was big city lights, and the dance was structured around just that: from the city skyline decorations to the disco balls and colorful lights. Many also had outfits matching the theme, such as sequins and sparkly dresses. Students were impressed with the décor put out by the homecoming decoration volunteers; the theme was obvious to the attendees and very well executed.
“I thought that the décor was great for the big city lights theme because it had a lot of lights and an Eiffel Tower,” Brynn commented.
Students enjoyed this dance and are looking forward to a new theme next year.
“The [homecoming] dance was a pretty fun event, and a good way to close out my Saturday night,” remarked Olivia Viar (9).
The only complaint that seemed to be consistent amongst attendees was the eclectic selection of food. “Bagel bites, apples, and cheesecake is not good,” said Chloe Muscaro (11).
“I am looking forward to [homecoming] next year,” Brynn stated, “and I would not change a thing about the dance.”
The homecoming dance was a great way to hang out with friends, have a fun weekend, build community with peers, and increase school spirit. This event, and the day of homecoming, was a highlight of the weekend.
