Hidden Valley High School won the Highest Achievement Exemplar Award from the State of Virginia, an honor recognizing the school’s accomplishments during the 2022- 2023 school year.
This award is given to schools where both the students and the school as a whole exceed the testing benchmarks. Hidden Valley High School exceeds assessment averages in every subject and has a higher percentage of students who graduate with advanced diplomas than both the school district and the state of Virginia averages.
According to the Mr. Jablonski, the vice principle of HVHS, the thing that makes our school stand out is the “great teachers on staff, they bring world experience, [and] professional experience.” Hidden Valley has lots of staff that care about helping the students reach their full potential. Nadia Guerrero (12) says that the school’s students “have a support system that doesn’t give up on you.”
The Highest Achievement Exemplar Award reflects that at HVHS, students are given lots of opportunities to thrive and try their best. Jablonski says, “everybody has a chance to succeed and after the 4 years that they are here they are ready to graduate with options.” Hidden Valley students have unique opportunities including going to Burton, a career and technical school, or Governor’s School, which focuses on further exploring science and math.
HVHS also offers activities such as sports and clubs to help someone get plugged in at school. Guerrero even says that her favorite part of HVHS is “the sports, the education, and the experiences you have with people and your peers.”
Congratulations to all students and staff at Hidden Valley High School for being recognized with this award!
