As we inch closer to Halloween it becomes increasingly exciting to partake in baking some spooky treats!
#5 Jack-O-Lantern Linzer Cookies- This tasty treat is created by mixing a sweet dough and splitting it into two sections. With one half of the dough, cut out Jack-O-Lantern shapes, with the other cut out pumpkins and bake like regular cookies. Then take your favorite jam or preserves and create a boo-tiful cookie!
#4 Chocolate Chip Spider Cookies- These spooky cookies are delicious and simple to make! Begin by mixing up regular chocolate chip cookie dough-minus the chocolate chips. Then place a few chocolate chips on the top of the unbaked cookie. Bake as usual then take an ultra-thin icing pipette to pipe chocolate or brown icing around each chocolate chip on the cookies. This will give your chocolate chip spiders little legs!
#3 Halloween Dragon Eye Brownies- These treats look spooky and complicated, but they’re actually quite easy! All you need is a mold for the Dragon Eye! Glaze it with melted chocolate and place an already baked and cut brownie in the mold. Cover with more chocolate and freeze to harden. These brownies will wow all your guests for your next creepy banquet.
#2 Cookie Bat Cupcakes- These adorable, sweet treats will be a hit for any Halloween Party or spooky celebration! Bake cupcakes and frost like usual. Take the filling out of several Oreos and break each cookie piece in half. Attach two “wings” to each Reese’s using icing and add eyes for a cute finish!
#1 Raspberry Mummy Hand Pies- These are some of the cutest treats suitable for any party and bound to get you compliments! Start by making or buying puff pastry and dividing the dough in two. With the first half roll out until dough is about ¼ inch thick. Cut it into 6 squares and then cut each square in half for a total of 12 rectangles. Cut the other half into thin strips. Spread raspberry or strawberry jam/preserves onto the dough and cover with the thin strips for a mummified look and bake as usual. Delicious and adorable!
