The Hidden Valley High School indoor track team had a successful 2024-2025 Season. Many school records were broken and multiple athletes qualified for the State competition. “I think I had a great year for my first indoor season” said Japhon English (12). Lucy Kochenderfer, Isley Shephard, Spencer Thacker, Jacob Stewart, Fiona Ramey, Lydia Novick, Charlotte Hieber, and Leila Ramey all qualified for states. The qualifiers competed at Liberty University’s indoor track for the state meet. The girls 4X800 relay, consisting of Lydia Novick, Charlotte Hieber, Fiona Ramey, and Leila Ramey, placed 11th in the state. Jacob Stewart competed in the 3200m and placed 4th in the state. Spencer Thacker ran the 1600 and placed 5th. Isley Shephard got second in the state in the 55m hurdles and set a new school record as a freshman. Lucy Kochenderfer placed 1st making her the girls 3A high jump state champion. The team had one of the best seasons they have had in a while. Multiple athletes qualified for state competition and many pr’s were set. ” I had a good second season of indoor. I beat my personal record twice during the season,” said Luke Emory(10).
