Men’s college basketball is off to an amazing start, with conference play creeping up in these teams’ schedule. Programs look forward to establishing their teams before the tough conference schedule ahead of us. Hot prospects are making names for themselves, the Southeastern Conference is looking more powerful than ever, and Feast Week was as exciting as always; all of this will be discussed here!
Feast Week just capped off and in case you missed all the action that was unpacked, this section is filled with information. Players Era Festival was one of the most exciting tournaments during Feast Week, with Oregon taking down one of the best programs: Alabama. The Crimson Tide excels at moving the ball around, finding shots, and a productive bench. Oregon still managed to stop a high scoring offense in a close 83-81 game which came down to the wire. Oregon’s Nate Bittle sealed the deal with a putback dunk, leaving 4.4 seconds left for Alabama to respond! Auburn took home the Maui Invitational, defeating a hot Memphis team 90-76 and keeping their undefeated season alive. The Tigers do an exceptional job of not turning over the ball and shooting the ball from the field. This game for Auburn was a statement, showing America that they can stop a hot, three-point shooting team. Oklahoma creeped away with a 69-64 win over Louisville in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Jalon Moore dropped a high 24-point game to secure the win for his Sooners. Feast Week continues to amaze year in and year out!
The Southeastern Conference, otherwise known as the SEC fields, some of the top ranked teams in the NCAA today, including No 1. Tennessee, No 2. Auburn, No 5. Kentucky, No 7. Alabama, and No. 12 Ole Miss, just to name a few. They solidified their dominance by defeating arguably the second toughest conference in the SEC/ACC basketball challenge, winning fourteen out of the sixteen games in the challenge with ease! The SEC will be a force in the upcoming conference play and teams will need to figure out how to measure up if they have not yet.
The last topic to be discussed is some of the hot prospects around the country. One of the most hyped players is Cooper Flagg. The freshman signed to Duke and has been heating up all season averaging a solid 17 Points, 9 Rebounds, and 3.8 Assists. Ace Bailey has also been a star freshman for Rutgers, having some good nights by dropping 24 against Texas A&M and 22 against Alabama! Rutgers is having a decent season, sitting at 5-4, but Ace still has a point to prove.
College basketball is on another level this season. The top ten teams have been in action against each other, giving the fans the high-level matchups they want to see.
