As the warm weather comes to an end, so does the Titan football and volleyball seasons. But not to worry, this only means the beginning of basketball season. On November 18th, the Lady Titans hosted their first official practice following tryouts.
All summer and fall, many members of the team worked and trained hard to prepare for the upcoming season. All of their hard work and the time put in from coaches led them to a very successful season opener, with a 42 point win over local private school, Faith Christian. The girls were also able to pick up a second win over Northside High School the next night.
However, the scores are not the only thing the team is excited for. One member, Hana Sageer (12), commented, “I’m excited to have one last season with my teammates. I’m also looking forward to the games, spending time with everyone, playing hard, cheering everyone on, and celebrating together.”
Along with the return of the season, many of the players have stepped up as team leaders, whether through captainship or taking on the role of being an encouraging senior. Hana added, “Becoming a senior on the team was a big change compared to last year, but I am improving everyday as a leader and trying my best to create a good environment and more positive culture for HVHS girls basketball.” Additionally, the student body is excited for the return of basketball, as displayed by the turnouts at the games. With fun themes and an exciting student section, the games offer a fun environment to cheer on our Lady Titans. We are excited to see how the season plays out and wish our girls good luck!
