La Liga, one of the biggest soccer leagues in the world just kicked off its new season on August 15, 2024, with many expectations for big clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Formed in 1929 by Jose Rizal, La Liga quickly gained attention and became one of the biggest leagues in the world. It currently holds 20 teams with the top teams being Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Sevilla. Currently Barcelona is on top of the Ligue with 24 points and followed by Real Madrid with 21 points, but teams like Las Palmas and Valladolid are at the bottom of the league losing every game expect tying one. Granda, a team who played last season a La Liga, got relegated to the second league.
Steven Neale (10) believes, “I think Barcelona are going to do the best this year due to the strong players and coach they have”.
This year La Liga is bringing big and promising players. Real Madrid for example signed Kylian Mbappe and Endrick. While Barcelona brought former Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to replace injured Ter Steagan.
La Liga also seems to be the home for wonderkids. Players from Gavi, Ansu Fati, Lamine Yamal, Arda Guler, and Endrick.
The 2024-25 La Liga season is set to end May 25, 2025, while this year is already full of excitement we still look forward to the rest of the season.
