Dodge plans to present the new all electric Dodge Charger Daytona EV to certified dealers by early 2025. This new electric muscle car is widebody and has many safety features to offer. Coming in two different trims including the R/T and Scat Pack. The entry-level trim which is the R/T has an expected 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 137 mph.
The EPA estimates a range of 317 miles per every charge. The top-spec trim which is the Scat Pack has an expected 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 134 mph. The Scat Pack has a total output of 630 hp as standard, and 670 hp with the Direct Connection Stage 2 kit and Power Shot. The EPA estimates a range of 260 miles per charge. The R/T is more efficient, but the Scat Pack outperforms the R/T.
While both trims are different and unique in their own ways, both trims have some similarities. This includes a 400-volt dual-electric motor, a nickel cobalt aluminum battery, steering wheel paddle shifters with three regeneration levels and a PowerShot button, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5 technology, and finally, Attitude Adjusting Lighting. The prices range starting from $61,590-$77,000. Coming both in a coupe design and 4-door sedan.
Denny Castillo is a person who loves muscle cars, and she will be giving her thoughts about this all-new electric Dodge Charger. Denny Castillo states, “I don’t think the Dodge Charger will be purchased by many, because most muscle car enthusiasts don’t go for electric powered cars.” This statement shows that real enthusiasts love real gas-powered muscle cars, one reason being the noise they make. Denny then says, “if I were to purchase a muscle car, the new Charger EV would not catch my attention because of the design and poor performance of the car.” This means that electric powered cars are usually not usually meant to be muscle cars since they lack performance.
Denny also went out to say, “I don’t think this car could outperform a good amount of muscle cars out there, although it has a good amount of horsepower it’s top speed is horrific.” According to Denny’s statement the Charger EV does not have enough top speed to race a car and win in the long run.
She also states, “My favorite thing about this car would have to be the interior design, for the unique way it was made.” Denny continues and says, “My least favorite thing about the Charger would be the exterior and the way the exhaust sounds.”
The Dodge Charger Daytona EV may not be very interesting for many, but it is worth giving a shot into purchasing. The Charger also offers different race modes to help boost its performance. In conclusion, the new Charger could be the future of muscles cars.
