The Recording Academy has formally revealed the nominations for the 2025 Grammy award show. This announcement has fans extremely excited and pumped up for the award show but has also started up the annual debates of which awards should go to whom. This year’s nominations are very diverse, spanning all types of artists and musicians from country all the way to rap. Regardless of whoever wins, sparks are flying with anticipation as the awards near closer.
Every year, there are the top nominees that get nominated for the most awards. Beyonce is this year’s top nominee with eleven nominations, following her is Charli XCX with seven nominations who is tied with Billie Eilish with the same amount. The category that has the fans the most eager is Album of the Year. The nominees for this award are New Blue Sun by André 3000, Cowboy Carter by Beyoncé, Short n’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter, Brat by Charli XCX, Djesse Vol. 4 by Jacob Collier, Hit Me Hard and Soft by Billie Eilish, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess by Chappell Roan, and The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift. As you can tell, the competition this year is fierce!
The fans are the ones who decide who is bringing home these awards this year and there are a lot of different opinions as to who people want to win. Ginger Barbour (10) was thrilled to see Sabrina Carpenter have a lot of nominations. She says, “I would be happy if Sabrina Carpenter took home Album of the Year, she deserves it,” but the opinions differ because Madi Salinas (10) said, “I voted for Billie Eilish and her new album for most of her nominations.” They both said they would be disappointed to see Beyonce win many of the categories due to her recent scandal. This year looks like it will be full of surprises and snubs for all the fans.
The Grammy’s are heading towards their 66th year and this year should not disappoint. If you want to see it, it will be broadcast live on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025.
