Palestine and Israel have been in this on-going war since October 7, 2023, and both sides don’t plan to stop until one wins.
Since the start of the war more than 40,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed by Israeli defense forces and much more injured. In Israel more than 1,500 people have been killed and most of them were killed in the October 7th attacks. The war has left over one million displaced Gazans and the shortage of food, water, medical resources, and other basic necessitates for daily use. In Israel they have carried more than 17,000 attacks on Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran.
The war did not only effect Israel and Palestine, but it also effected the rest of the world. At least nine countries took the drastic step of recalling their ambassadors and cutting diplomatic ties with Israel. Many people began to boycott big brands that support Israel like Starbucks and McDonalds, and protection has been a daily thing all over the world demanded a cease fire.
Lana Qasem (9) stated, “That the war had a big effect on the world and et them acknowledge Palestine and their struggles”.
The Israeli government has insisted that the fighting will not end until Hamas is fully defeated. While Hamas have the same plan.
Big countries like the US and the UK have been supporting Israel and sending them aid. While most countries in the middle east have been defending Palestine and also sending them aid.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh has been assassinated in Tehran, Iran. This left much anger in those who supported Hamas and Palestine. Due to his death the new Hamas leader became Yahya Sinwar. Yahya considered the mastermind behind the Oct 7 attacks is a Palestinian politician who played a major role in developing Hamas.
Hamas has proposed an agreement in which it would release all the hostages in return for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. While Israel wants to completely erase Hamas to win the war. In Gaza 117 hostages had been returned alive to Israel, with 105 being released in a prisoner exchange deal, four released by Hamas unilaterally and eight rescued by the Israel Defense Forces.
For now there is no way to tell when or how the war will end because both sides wont stop till they win.
