Zendaya and her stylist, Law Roach, attended Fashion Week in Paris from September 25th to October 3rd, 2023.
After a fashion show during Paris Fashion Week, a video was posted online showing Zendaya rushing to her seat in the front row, leaving Law Roach standing in the aisle confused while she pointed to a seat for him in the second row. This led some people to believe that there was tension between them. However, both Zendaya and Law Roach have since stated in respective interviews that that was not the case at all.
Law Roach denied rumors of tension when he revealed to The Cut that he and Zendaya had been stuck in traffic and were running late to the show. After their arrival, people were “shuffling them as fast as possible to the seats.” Since it was a “long walk,” there was “a lot of anxiety because Zendaya is really respectful, and she doesn’t like people having to wait on her.”
Meredith Crawley (11) says, “If they said that it didn’t happen, chances are that their words are probably accurate, no matter what the video shows, since it could be taken out of context, and I don’t see why people would keep saying that.
Since he was used to sitting next to Zendaya, Roach said that he became confused when there wasn’t enough space for them both, saying, “in my mind, my seat was next to her, so when I got there, and it wasn’t…it wasn’t a problem, but there was nobody to tell me where my actual seat was,” propagating the confusion.
Although Zendaya was seen pointing to a seat behind her in the video, Roach clarified that she was not meaning for him to sit there. Zendaya was in fact telling Roach that the seat for her assistant, so he did not want to take his seat. Even though Roach ended up with a different seat, he said that Zendaya and the Louis Vuitton team are not to blame for the mishap and calling rumors of beef with them “crazy.”
Now that they have both stated that what happened was misjudged, people see that rumors were blown out of proportion. Olivia Viar (9) said, “I would believe what they came out and said because why would I believe the video when it is putting them against each other?”
