The Weeknd has wrapped up his career using his stage name by dropping his long-awaited album Hurry Up Tomorrow. The album was released on January 31, 2025. Fans have been waiting for this album since he teased it on his twitter after the release of his past album Dawn FM in 2022. Hurry Up Tomorrow is an R&B/soul album, which is his normal genre, but he did not shy away from trying new things. The main themes he explored in the album are self-reflection, struggles with fame, finding identity, grief, and mental health. There are so many themes, sounds, and more put into these songs and his effort shines through.
The Weeknd kicked off Hurry Up Tomorrow with his first single “Timeless (featuring Playboi Carti),” which heavily blew up and got fans excited for the forthcoming album. He released this on September 27, 2025, and marked his highest career debut on the US Billboard Hot 100. His second single on the album was “Sao Paulo (featuring Anitta)” released on October 30th, 2024, followed by “Cry for Me” on album release day. These singles gave fans insight into what the album would be like. The Weeknd has already made his mark on 2025 music.
Hurry Up Tomorrow is a 22-track album full of inspirational and groovy music. The tracks include “Wake Me Up (featuring Justice),” “Cry For Me,” “I Can’t F****** Sing,” “Sao Paulo (featuring Anitta),” “Until We’re Skin & Bones,” “Baptized In Fear,” “Open Hearts,” “Opening Night,” “Reflections Laughing (featuring Travis Scott & Florence + The Machine),” “Enjoy The Show (featuring Future),” “Given Up On Me,” “I Can’t Wait To Get There,” “Timeless (featuring Playboi Carti),” “Niagara Falls,” “Take Me Back To LA,” “Big Sleep (featuring Giorgio Moroder),” “Give Me Mercy,” “Drive,” “The Abyss (featuring Lana Del Rey),” “Red Terror,” “Without a Warning,” and “Hurry Up Tomorrow.”
The Weeknd’s new album has been an enormous success. The album debuted at number one of Billboard 200 and became The Weeknd’s fifth Billboard 200 chart-topping album. This album is not my favorite of The Weeknd’s, but I did really enjoy it. It was a tad underwhelming but still had some great tracks. My favorite songs are “Open Hearts” and “Niagara Falls.” Overall, I rate this album 3/5 shields.
