After 6 years Victoria Secret opened the runway again in Brooklyn, New York, on October 15, 2024. The Victoria Secret fashion started in 1995 to help promote there clothing and to bring in new customers. All of the models who were under Victoria Secrets contract are referred to as Victoria’s Secrets Angles . The peak of the fashion show was in 2001, with millions tuning in to watch the lavishing event. The fashion show closed the runway in 2018 before re-opening in 2024. “Although I was exited to see the fashion show come back, but I feel they ruined it with all the slick backs.” said Jayda Donahue (12).

The Angles used to be known for there lavish wings and volume blowout, for all too see while they make there way down the runway. In the early 1990’s when the show first started it was aired on national television, the week leading up to valentines day.  After years of having the fashion show around valentines day, Victoria Secret moved its famous fashion show to the Christmas and holiday season. When the 2024 fashion show comes into comparison to the past shows many have a similar opinion just like, Ellie Moore (12), “I didn’t like it, compared to the 2018 fashion show it was not good at all.”

Overall, while many were exited to see what new, exciting and over the top fashion show we would see in 2024, it did not live up to our expectations. Many of us hope that we get to see a better fashion show in 2025 going back to the days of iconic wings, blowouts, and angles.
