On April 5th, 2024, J. Cole released his worldwide album: Might Delete Later. Fans have been eager for a new album and their prayers have finally been answered.
If you are new to the rap world, J. Cole is one of the biggest and most popular artists of the genre. J. Cole along with Kenrick Lamar, Drake, and Kanye West, have been on top of the charts for years now. Providing catchy beats and powerful lyrics, these creators change the music industry every day.
Before releasing his album, J. Cole had been on an exciting tour. Beginning on July 5th, 2023, and ending on April 5th, 2024, the It’s All a Blur Tour went all around the world. For the past year, listeners have been following the tour and waiting for a teaser of Cole’s new album.
The popular new collection of songs consists of 11 unexpected tracks. Although this album was highly anticipated some believe it did not meet expectations. Followers had been waiting 2 years for a new album by J. Cole. Unfortunately, this album was a letdown.
Even though the album was disappointing, there are some songs that make up for it. So far, the most popular songs of the album have been: “Crocodile Tearz,” “Pricey,” and “7 Minute Drill.”
Recently, “7 Minute Drill” has caused some controversy in the hip/hop world. This song was included in the album when it dropped but soon got removed from all streaming platforms. Throughout the song J. Cole mentioned other rappers which caused an uproar in the community. J. Cole later put out a statement stating his regret for the song and his decision to take down this track.
Overall, I think J. Cole’s album was interesting and entertaining. If you love powerful rap this album is for you.
