Horror Movie fans all over the country are preparing for this year’s lineup of soon to be released horror movies. This lineup includes a total of five thrillers, Terrifier 3, Late night with the Devil, A Quiet Place: Day One, Abigail, and The Strangers: Chapter One.
The Terrifier franchise is coming back with a bang with soon to be released Terrifier 3. Directed by Damien Leone and releasing on October 25, 2024, this film has a Grinch-like plot as it follows Art the Clown disturbing the peace of a small town on Christmas Eve. Limited information is released about this movie, but hopefully more will be released soon.
The second film in this queue is one of the most anticipated films of the year, Late Night with the Devil. This movie will be released on March 22, 2024, and was directed by siblings Colin and Cameron Cairnes. Late Night with the Devil follows a live news broadcast that takes a turn for the worst. During a Halloween special live news broadcast in 1977, the show host decides to create a spectacle of attempting to communicate with the Devil.
Quiet Place fans are getting ready for this prequel story that unveils why the world went quiet. A Quiet Place: Day One was directed by Michael Sarnoski and will be released on June 28, 2024. This film follows Sammy from New York City as she has to relearn how to live after alien-like creatures invade the planet to hunt any sound.
The next movie on this line up is Abigail. This movie was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and will be released this April 19, 2024. Abigail stars the late actor Angus Cloud. This film follows a group of kidnappers who kidnap Abigail, daughter of wealthy figure, for ransom. They later come to the realization that they have kidnapped a girl-turned-vampire who has a quinch for revenge.
The last movie on this line-up is The Strangers: Chapter One. The story was made by Bryan Bertino and will be released on May 17, 2024. The Strangers: Chapter One acts as a prequel to the pre-existing movies in this franchise. This film follows a young couple who are staying in an Airbnb in the middle of nowhere. They are terrorized by 3 masked strangers all throughout the night and fight to make it through the night.
Many horror fans are thrilled about these upcoming films. There are far too many anticipated movies coming out this year to showcase them all, so honorable mentions go to Imaginary, Immaculate, You’ll Never Find Me, and Longlegs.
