The Crown is a Netflix show based off the British Royal’s lives during the late 20th century. The Netflix show has ended after 6 popular seasons. Every two seasons represents a different era in Queen Elizabeth II reign.
The 6th and final season of the show is set from the 1990’s through the early 2000’s. The season is split in two parts, part one was released on November 16, 2023, covering the events of Diana, Princess of Whales death and the events after her death.
While in real life we don’t know what happens behind closed doors, the show lets us picture what happened better. The show covers many historical accuracies including the vacation Diana took during her last summer, her relationship with Dodi Fayad, her death, and the events that took place after, including the Queen’s famous speech to honor the late princess. In the last episode of part one, the show focuses on Diana and Charles’ sons, Princes William, and Harry and how they cope with the loss of their mother.
The second part of the 6th season was released on December 14, 2023. The second part takes place a few years after the death of Princess Diana. One of the main focuses of the second part is on William and Harry growing up and William going off to University at St. Andrews where he meets his future wife, Kate Middleton. The show shows the audience the development of the relationship between William and Kate throughout their years in university. One of the other focuses is the relationship between Charles and Camilla. The show covers the events leading up to Charles and Camilla’s 2005 wedding .
The Crown was a show that everyone around the world enjoyed watching to learn more about the royal family and while many people were upset that it had come to an end, the show ended in a way to honor the royal family.
