On Friday August 27, Zach Bryan released his self titled album Zach Bryan. Bryan has released a total of five albums and many singles. His debut album was DeAnn in honor of his late mother and was released in 2019. He then released Elisabeth (2020), American Heartbreak (2022), All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster (2022), and now Zach Bryan (2023).
Before Bryan started his music career, he was in the Navy for seven years and was released on honorable discharge to peruse his music career. Bryan had some popularity, but was not widely known outside of his native Oklahoma. In 2017 that all changed. Bryan’s friends filmed him singing “Heading South” on his iPhone, and the video went viral.
Bryan’s newest album demonstrates his rapid popularity, as it features multiple guest artists, who are successful in their own careers: War and Treaty, Sierra Ferrell, Kacey Musgraves and the Lumineers. “I Remember Everything (ft. Kacey Musgraves)” is currently the most popular song on his new album and has hit number one on the Hot 100. On August 28, 2023, Bryan announced his Quittin’ Time Tour, scheduled for 2024.
When listening his music you can feel the amount of passion and thought he put into this album. When listening to his album I could not find a bad song, no matter how many times I listened. Two of my favorite songs on this album are “Hey Driver” and “Tourniquet”. When he writes his songs he makes them very personal, which makes you relate to them more, and Bryan continues to prove why he is at the forefront of country music.
